A true-crime series streaming on Peacock. Rod Lopez shot the episode’s main interviews as a one-person crew.
Series: Prime Crime
Location: Wrightsville, PA
Network: Peacock
Project type: True-crime television series
Our role: Director of Photography for the main interviews, plus lighting and sound
Crew: One-person crew: camera, lighting and sound by Rod Lopez
Equipment provided: Cinema cameras and lenses, lighting and lighting support, camera support, tripods and gimbals
The Goal
The producers needed sit-down interviews with the victim’s mother and son: sensitive conversations that had to look and sound broadcast-ready.
The Production
Rod Lopez handled camera, lighting and sound himself, using his own cinema camera, lenses, lighting and support gear. A one-person crew kept the setup small and quiet, which helps when people are sharing something this personal.
The Result
The interviews appear in the finished episode, which streams on Peacock.
